Juliets hints at the end of the play without knowing it.
Juliet – “My grave is like to be my wedding bed”
‘act one scene 5 ‘
Before Juliet even knows Romeo she is head over heals in love with him. She is worried that she will not be able to marry him in which case she is saying she would rather die. This is a hint because at the end, her and Romeo die on a bed together.
Shakespeare uses a ship metaphor to communicate the idea of fate being in control of Romeos life
In act one scene four Romeo is describing his bad dream he’d had the night before, saying something bad would happen that night that would lead to death. In this scene Romeo says” He that have steerage of my course, direct my sail”. The metaphor Shakespeare has used is showing Romeo as the ship ,by using language such as steerage, sail and course- . He suggests someone is the leader of his ship and he is going to follow the path they have in place for him.
